Once in a lifetime, if you’re lucky, you’ll meet someone who laughs a laugh that infects you with admiration. He’s a resourceful and clever chap, who knows the way to your heart.
You’ll listen intently as he convinces you to spend a lifetime together.
You’re suddenly smitten, like a kitten who naps in the sun.
You can’t resist his words and actions that rock your heart and soul.
He’ll rock your world and surround you with support in all shapes and sizes.
Your life treasured and measured with him tick away like hours on a clock. Time flies by and before you know it, together you’ve both become vintage and find it’s not so bad to decorate with antiques.
Especially ones you inherited.
When you look back at the areas surrounding you and the home you built together, you’ll find he helped you raise a couple creative little kids. If you’re really lucky he doesn’t mind if you decorate with their creations.
He’s a solid rock in your life. You realize, there’s so much he does that you’d never be able to do on your own. Like plan a project, buy the stuff, load it, unload it, lift it and move all 2500#’s of the paving stone, sand, and border rocks multiple times.
Holy shit…that’s a ton and a quarter of a self-designed project sitting, resting, and waiting to become a new seating area for the two of you. No worries, he knows it’s premature to move that much weight again too soon. He’ll recover from the first phase of paving rock moves and finish the project, someday…just not today.
Today’s Miller Time. It’s a high in life when you stumble upon a free T-shirt!
While he rests and considers next steps, he’ll even share you with another guy as long as he’s the furry sort.
He might pose for a photo if you ask nicely…there’s a smile in there, trust me!
While he sits, he’ll wonder how it is he’s moved mountains for you so many times.
He’ll admire his work and the walls built to protect you.
And, he’ll wait patiently for you to do your thing. While things heat up, he’ll even find a way to keep the beer cold, too. A resourceful man’s job is never done.
Post Inspiration: Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Words that end in ‘ock’
You have a great guy there, Shelley. Anyone who’s willing to haul around and shovel rock for the good of all is okay in my book. And he likes beer!
My dad had a lock like the one in your photo. The brother has it now, but that sure brought back fond memories.
Thanks, Mary, yes, he’s a good all around the clock kind of guy – I still can’t believe how much all the rock materials weigh! I’m glad the clock brought back fond memories for you! Hope you have a great Friday!
I love everything about this. I love the way you brought everyday life into a lifeTime and I love the symbolism. You DO know you never used the word love once-unless I missed it). Instead you defined and brought purpose to what love looks like . 😍
Thank you, Donna – oops…guess I didn’t use the word love, but you’re right, the post and my thoughts are laced with what real-life everyday LOVE looks like :-)!
Awwhh😍😍 so sweet!!
