“How hot was it here yesterday?” you ask. So hot even the birds were panting.
And fighting over space on the bird bath.
And then one noticed me as he took off –
They all took off, and a Blue Bird stopped by briefly.
Off the bluebird flew. He stayed long enough for me to get a Blue Square photo for Becky’s challenge!
Then a young Cow Bird arrived to show the Sparrows how to enjoy the bath. Pay attention to his moves. He had quite the act to watch.
A nice cool bath, on a hot summer day, is one way to play.
Then I got a look from the bird on the fence. The look that said, “Hey, you should check out your own house and see what’s happening in there?”
Really? I looked to the left as I heard the grunt of the redundant fluff cat trying to raise her girth from the counter. She had sauntered in while I wasn’t looking.
She had enough of waiting for me to leave the room. She may look like she was off to take a bath on her own, but nope…
She was on a mission to get tuna that was draining in the sink. Tuna meat, meant for the hoomans to use in the making of the cilantro lime tuna burgers we were having for dinner.
She was busted when I saw her, but as every good photography mom does, I watched her in action. Trying to look all nonchalant. Trying to figure out how to turn around?
And look cool while she was at it like it was just a normal day on the cupboard. Shame on her.
But there’s Tuna in there. I just know it…
Post Inspiration – Sunday Stills – Creatures and Critters.
PS – Happy Monday – I hope you have a great week! Go ahead and tease me for letting my cat climb the counter. I’m hopeless when it comes to photo ops!
Your bird photos are fabulous, and your cheeky cat made me smile!
Thank you, Becky! I appreciate the encouragement. Yay – 1/2 way through the month of squares and blues!
Where has the month (& tuna) gone?!
By way too fast! 😉
Great blue bird action shot Shelley. The naughty cat was my smile for the evening. 🙂
Thank you, Brian, glad Dessy brought a smile to your face!
Love the cat sequence! We had a male cat one time who would have knocked that glass into the sink without hesitation.
Thanks, Dan – Dessy wouldn’t do it deliberately, but by accidentally bumping into it, she’d do so 😉
Bad kitty! I’m glad you survived the humidity. 😎
Yes, she is. Well…survived isn’t quite right yet, we’ve received our next round today, it is HUMID here! And stormy!
I have no doubt it’s nutty humid there Shelley. Thank God for A/C right! I watch TWC frequently, seems you guys are in for some wet stuff, I wonder if you’ll get a bit of rain from what’s left of Barry?
Yes, humid, and yes to the rain and storms. I don’t know how much we got, but it was horizontal through one of the rounds. ;-(
What great photo’s Shelley, your cat is a beauty! Great shots of the birds in the birdbath 🙂
Thank you, I appreciate your encouragement!!
A photo op is a photo op. Glad no tuna was harmed in the process 😉
Beautiful bird photos too!!
Thank you, Dessy is proud of her accomplishments 😉 We both appreciate your encouragement!
You are both quite welcome!
Love that photo of the bird in flight. It was perfect.
Sandwich looked pretty good, too.
Happy Monday Shelley.
Thank you, Drew – I appreciate hearing what you enjoyed about the post! Happy Monday to you, too! 🙂
Thanks for linking with Sunday Stills, Shelley! I think your cat has wings!
Thank you for the opportunity to join in! LOL – she’d love it if she had wings, her legs would get a rest from launching all of her fluff from location to location.
Your bird pictures are so pretty. Was a joy to see them. Its your kitchen 😁 none of my business who sits on the cupboards and in the sinks 😜
Thank you, Bee, glad you enjoyed them. Thank you for not looking down on our cat’s counter adventures.
You are welcome 😚🙋♀️🐝
I used to love watching the birds enjoying their bath in the backyard. They’d have a whole show going by the time they were finished and I laughed when the big birds used the small birdbaths and the small birds chose the biggest baths. You were there at the right time to capture it all!
Birds are a joy to watch, that’s for sure. Thank you for your compliments, much appreciated!
