Good morning! Yes, it is so nice to say, “Good morning,” especially after a restful night of sleep. For a week now, I’ve tested out My Pillow to see if the guarantee “The Most Comfortable Pillow You’ll Ever Own” is true or not?
First, what am I comparing the new pillow to?
- A memory foam type pillow. I always fall asleep quickly, so that doesn’t count for the memory foam pillow. The real test of a comfortable pillow is when you wake up in the middle of the night for the bathroom run. Come on, I know I’m not the only one in the world that has to do that!?! Are you able to get back to sleep quickly or eventually after feeling exhausted from tossing and turning? Or is it the trying to get back to sleep struggles for the rest of the night? For me, the fighting with the pillow and tossing and turning factors really made the memory foam pillow definitely fail at providing a restful night of sleep. The memory foam pillow is hard, and unforgiving. I always felt when sleeping on my side that I’d have to prop it up with my arm under it to get the right level of support. I’m pretty sure that also explains the nagging neck pain upon rising. I’m also double thinking my thought about wrinkles from the pillow case. It might have been more due to the hard pillow and scrunching it up against my face to get the right support. I can only imagine the scowling face I probably made while trying to get comfortable? Hmmm…I think I’m on to something after trying My Pillow?!
- Pillow case – remember how I bought the faux silk pillow case and really liked it? Well, My Pillow instructions indicate that type of pillow case is not appropriate for best sleep. Oh dear, never fear, Christmas is soon here. Maybe the pillow cases can be stocking stocking stuffers for my kids? There is also the trusty 12 items a day collection box to the rescue. Wow, that would be a first for me in record turn around time from purchase to donation. Gotta love firsts in life.
I digress, where was I? Oh, yeah, back to the pillow review!
After seeing TV ads and listening to many testimonials on the KQRS radio station, my husband suggested we give My Pillow a try. It was either new pillows or look into buying a new mattress. Yes, we were feeling desperate for a good night of sleep. Hmm…$100 versus thousands of dollars? We were both game for trying the $100 route first. We ended up ordering a side sleeper and a back sleeper. For any skeptics out there, it is true, the two types of pillows (back and side sleeper) are definitely different feeling so that My Pillow claim is true too.
Thankfully, the package arrived quickly! Wow, I couldn’t believe it was two king sized pillows. It looked way too small.
We quickly opened it up and discovered why. You have to fluff them in the dryer to get them ready to sleep on.
We were anxious to try them out. Early to bed, early to rise was a good motto for the night. All I remember is falling asleep quickly (normal for me), but not waking up more than once in the night and sleeping what I would call a straight 8 hours in a row. Oh my, I had forgotten how heavenly that feeling is! Ahh….now that’s a good night of sleep. My husband and I both looked at each other in the morning, with restful sleep grins on our faces, and said, “I don’t want the ‘I hope it is true ‘cuz we spent $100 on these pillows’ to outweigh reality, but did you sleep really well too?”
“YES! OMG! My neck doesn’t hurt, and I feel really rested!”
The first morning, and every morning since, we are damn glad we purchased the My Pillow! My Pillow is exactly what it claims to be. It is just the right type of support. You can adjust it to your own head and sleeping position. You don’t feel pressure, just the gentle support you need to sleep well. Even after waking up in the middle of the night for the bathroom run, I’m able to get back to sleep without fighting with the pillow. My Pillow is The Most Comfortable Pillow I’ve Ever Owned! I am anxious to see if it washes and lasts like the guarantee. Too soon to test those claims though!
How about you? Have you tried pillows in the past and been happy? If not, I’d definitely recommend My Pillow! Sleep tight, see you soon!
