Chime in with me if you’re a fan of winter, but you don’t want it to show up until, say, December.
It’s November, and snow happens here in Wisconsin. But, dagnabit, I’m not quite ready for the white stuff to stay.
I’m glad when it pops in briefly to warm us up to the idea, and then it disappears as quickly as it appeared. It did that this weekend, brief enough for me to play with my camera.
It is kinda pretty, but still, like I mentioned already, nope, I’m not ready for it to stay.
Even in winter, an isolated patch of snow has a special quality. – Andy Goldsworthy
Maybe if I look at it in Sepia, I’ll be more ready? Nah…nope…not ready. Thank goodness it’s Monday and there’s always work to distract me from worrying about winter!
Post inspiration – Bren at Ryan Photography Photo of the Week Sepia and RDP Monday – Chime
PS – How about you, are you a fan of winter? How about Sepia photographs, do you like them? Which photo do you like the best from above?
Thank you for entering Shelley… love the snow image…xx
Thank you, Bren! Hope you have a great week.
You too Shelley xx
In my neighborhood, if I see one snowflake, I shut myself in my house for days. I like to watch snow from the window, and that’s it.
Snow through a window is a nice view 🙂
I grew up in Buffalo NY so for the first 19 years of my life I shoveled enough of it to last a lifetime. Love my South Carolina sunshining winters. As for thephotos I like the window , theres just something about being in a warm house watching the snow fall
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Alice! I’ve heard that South Carolina has nice weather, I’m glad you’ve found your favorite place to call home :-)!
I’m not a fan of snow or ice, which cause all kinds of hassle here in the south. The cold I can deal with. It doesn’t get anywhere near as cold here as it did in Chicago, and it’s easier to put more clothes on because it’s cold than to take clothes off because it’s hot.
As for the pictures, I prefer the ones without the sepia cast. That’s just me.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, John. Oh, my, Chicago can be really cold, my daughter lived there for 4 years!
Yes, I am not ready either. It is in the forecast for this weekend. I am thankful that this winter I don’t have that 45 minute drive at 6am to work. Coming from the south, I really do not have the love of winter. I am a spring and fall person. But it is beautiful to watch. I put out new bird feeder near my living room window so they can entertain me in the snow. They are already fun to watch.
Thank you, Anita – it is fun to hear about how you deal with the snow. Birds don’t seem to mind it like us humans do!
I know it is silly to some but I got excited this morning as a woodpecker stopped at my feeder. The larger birds are beginning to show up some. It so much fun.
I understand I spent much of the weekend watching the geese who camped out for a couple of days in the cornfield before they took off south.
I’m not a fan of winter. The cold. Just white and brown (and some green) out the window. Actually kind of a natural sepia landscape! I do agree, though, that there is a great deal of comfort from being in a warm place and looking out at the falling snow. Especially knowing I don’t have to shovel it!
I only wish everyone had a warm place to live and a window to look out of.
Thank you for sharing your insights into winter. I agree, it’s pretty and I love it when I don’t have to shovel it!
Not a fan of winter either. All good pics. We got a sprinkling here in Ontario on the weekend, which quickly disappeared. Supposed to get more next weekend. Yikes.
Thank you! It seems whatever weather you get, we’re not far behind! Yikes is right!
Ha ha – I just commented on another post of yours about snow coming in this weekend but I am mindful that Wisconsin has Michigan beat in that department. I already have angst about this snow – call it show showers, a covering – snow is snow in my opinion. Even in sepia, though subdued, I know it is there. 🙂 I like sepia tones (which I like as well as black and white, as I am old enough to appreciate and have been a part of black and white film).
Yes, we Midwesterners know snow all too well. Snow is snow is right! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the photos, I appreciate the feedback!
I don’t like snow. EVER! Anyway, I looked on our weather scope and we’re supposed to get our first snow here next Wednesday! I’m not ready. I’m not ready.
The only comfort I have is knowing I can get through the snow season along with you! Misery loves company. LOL.
To be honest, I am getting a six week escape mid-winter. BUT till then, I will continue to complain. Complaining, however it works, makes me feel better. Go figure.
I’m here to support you in your misery of the snow! 🙂
Thank you ever so.
