Way back in February, I was feeling stir crazy about being stuck in the house, so I started my Twisted Tuesday posts. This one was a hit. I can’t even remember when I stopped them, but for the duration of time I wrote those posts, I enjoyed them.
Twisted is a good description of me because when I look at my life and the natural things surrounding me, yep, I adore the twisted parts of my life the most.
Like how I am amazed at this crazy succulent plant I nurture as best I can. I don’t have a clue what it is called, but it grows like crazy in the right environment. Well-drained soil and the morning sun.
Here’s what it looked like at the end of January.
And here it is today – It loves being in the sun, but grows away from it.
It was growing vertically in the front of the pot by the window. I made the assumption that if it can grow in the air, it can grow anywhere. I thought, what the heck, I’ll see if I can transplant some and try a different window. Maybe it’ll grow toward the light there?
Nope, same thing…the pot on the left grows to the left.
The pots on the right, the plants grow to the right.
Twisted, just like me!
Now that warmer weather is here, I get to go outside and enjoy an expanded version of my twisted world…and I’m smiling even more.
I adore looking at the curves and bends of the bleeding hearts in the morning and in the afternoon.
The fence boards with so many patterns catch my eye as I walk by.
I love to sit for hours in our teahouse. My chair with a view has many twisted objects to see. How many can you count just from this view alone?
I love to admire my Mr. who loves to build things in our yard that combine blocks and dirt or straight boards (warping over the years) and naturally curved lines.
And…we’re on to the next phase of our front yard project – Mr. moved tons of bricks one more time to make sure we have the plan solidified (temporarily).
We shall sit here together (in a gliding chair prepping for revival…that’s my project not yet started) while admiring the sunrise or the neighbor’s new shed…which by the way is finally taking shape. Yesterday, we witnessed a van full of Amish workers arrive to do the labor. Man, they work hard, just like my Mr.
And yes, my twisted self is guilty, I couldn’t help but watch them…at how hard and fast they work.
It reminded me of the scene in the Witness movie…(and they’re back again today to work some more!)

That’s interesting about the plant. I did notice that almost all of the leaves face the sun though, no matter which way you turn the pot. It’s a really pretty plant.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It really is an intriguing plant to me, too!
