Are you, like me, a silhouette kind of person? Would you rather skip partaking in the selfie-taking world – avoid putting yourself out there for the world to see? Would you rather hide behind something or someone?
Do you let others take the limelight…?
Or do you wonder if you can shine even if you’re not the one in the limelight?
I think you can!
It’s possible, yes it is.
I think my style is a mix of quirky, eclectic, bright, fun, with a really sophisticated femine silhouette. – Elaine Welteroth
It’s fun behind the scenes. You know why? Because you notice things, you allow time to reflect in quiet moments, and you slow down enough to enjoy what makes your heart sing.
I love it behind the camera, capturing surprises and quiet moments.
As an introvert, on a discovery of how to let quaint parts of me shine, even when I’m behind the scenes, I’ve adopted the motto, no matter where you are or what you’re doing, “it’s your light, burn it bright”TM.
Today’s post is an example of me taking a reflective look at what makes a person like me light up. There are so many bright and special moments in life. If we don’t pause to let them shine, they’ll burn away before we know it. While they burn, at the brightest moments, stop and enjoy them.
Take a walk with me through my garden gates, as I share a few moments that sparked rays of light in my little old world. My favorite time is early morning…it’s so peaceful and quiet, and I catch my best photos at that time of day.
What do I love about my morning walks?
My garden boots – they are a must when I stroll around in the dew-drenched lawn
Copper, yard sniffing at sunrise
My Tiger Lilies – buds just ready to burst…any day now
My faithful companion – Copper – he loves to nose his way into my photography attempts
Tiny flowers
Marigolds
Twisted leaves
Morning glories, just starting to climb.
Like me, they are growing and reaching for the light.
“It’s your light, burn it bright”TM
PS – I’d love to hear about what light in your life burns bright! Share your thoughts in the comments. If you’re a fellow blogger, please share your blog link in the comments if you’d like to – all my thousands of (potential – wink, wink) readers can see you’re a Silhouette Sunday kind of person too! Thanks for stopping by – I appreciate you taking time to read my thoughts!
I’m a “girl behind the selfies” too. I don’t like taking center stage. I love your beautiful thought–there IS so much to notice if you quietly look all around you instead of only staring at what’s in front of your face. All parts of nature speak to us. I never want to miss their interesting conversations.
Aw, thank you! After reading your blog posts and your book, I can see you’re the behind the scenes kind of person. I love the way your writing encourages us to reflect and notice the little things that speak to us in our worlds.
I feel the same way about your writing.
I cannot describe in words how much that means to me! xx
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
As yours do as well.
I’m more of a -vert (a mix of an extrovert and introvert) I try to make good impressions for new people and attempt to be myself, but if that doesn’t work, I try as hard as possible to stray away from them. I’m also pretty much a silhouette when it comes to social media, though.
You do an excellent job of describing yourself as a mix of both extrovert and introvert! I love the picture you chose for your gravatar! Your blog is so you, and an exceptional example of how being inquisitive helps the creative process. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! xx
And…oh, my gosh, I love your photos on this post! http://theinquisitivewriter.com/photos-art/ Very inspiring!!
I’m like you- Shelley, I prefer to be the one behind the lens, though now and then I make a rare appearance! Photography is a light in my life that burns bright. Photots are a way for me to express myself when I get writer’s block and can’t find the words to say. Hope you have a happy Sunday! https://wordpress.com/view/thoughtgalleryblog.wordpress.com
Yes, you are, Jennavive! And what I love about you is that you have so much fun on your adventures with your daughter and your camera! And your plants!! You rock getting over any moment of writer’s block! Hope you have a great Sunday, too! xx
No selfies for me. I very rarely appear in any photos. I enjoy being behind the camera. It’s more fun back there!
And…you do a great job of capturing so many smiles and bright moments!
Lovely photos
Thank you!
I can’t wait for your flowers to bloom, Shelley! Your photos are great!
Thank you, ME TOO! They got rain this weekend, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Yay! That’s good news then.
