This is a post for fellow writers (aka, bloggers). I admire you. You’re a gift to me. You know who you are. The ones who have figured out a perfect route to take to find your way in the huge blogosphere.
It’s mighty easy to feel rather tiny here.
I admire how you’ve found routes that work best for you. You don’t mind walking confidently alone. Paving your own way.
Taking one tiny step, not the giant kind, nope, just one tiny step at a time. Patiently forging ahead.
Letting each unique step glow as you go.
Until you find that one magical place that lights your creative heart on fire.
And melts your thoughts into eloquent words as they burn their way onto the page.
Some of us need more motivation. Like watching a classic movie to move us to write.
Or the joy of having others surrounded around by us, adding to our thoughts. Helping us grow.
Some of us need to follow another path paved before us. To make it to new places we never thought possible.
We may hide in the shadows of “I’m not quite sure where to go next.” All the while, we’re hoping no one really notices us until we’re ready.
We let what’s before us stack up the odds against us finding our own way. But our interests remain. We’re curious to find out what works.
We’re looking for something that sparkles and delights our interests. And doesn’t just repeat the old tried and true, been there done that kind of stuff. Keeping it fresh is a gift.
We’re looking for a low hanging fruit of sorts – to grab onto and yank off the fresh idea tree.
Hoping not to destroy any idea by copying someone else.
Sometimes a repeat of what feeds our souls can be quite a delight. If done just right.
With a twist, or a new flavor added to it, is it okay to keep trying to break into the writing life – don’t you agree?!
Other writers are a gift and inspiration to me. 12 of my favorites (my list is really long, so sorry if you’re not listed YET!) are found by linking their names below. Thank you dears – you inspire me! xx
Rebecca; Esme; Yvette; Linda S; Linda H; Dan; John; Janet; Barbara; Laurie; and another Barbara (new to me – her touching post about dementia resonated with me this morning) Hugh who keeps giving us awesome tips…so many more! Cheers to all of you!
Post Inspiration – The search for creativity sparked by what’s in front of me.
PS – What sparks your fire to write?! Happy writing to you!
Those tiny tracks in the snow are so cute! It’s amazing how something so small can survive the bitter cold. ❤️
Thanks, John! I know…I don’t know how they do it, I’ll be forever amazed!
What a great job you’ve done of weaving you words around these photos, Shelley! Excellent!
Cheers to you, Shelley! And thank you so much for the shout-out! Generous bloggers like you make this big blogosphere feel like a cozy living room (decorated so festively, like yours!). And as we’re forging ahead, step by little step, it’s wonderful to know we have treasured company. Hope you had a great weekend (and enjoyed Oz!)
Shelley, love your photos, especially the second to the last one. I am going to paint that one (watercolors)! As you “keep trying to break into the writing life,” realize that you are already there. Just reading this one post on your new-to-me blog (thank you, #senisal) tells me you have “it.” I began freelancing 20 years ago and started blogging 10 years ago and post just once a week. Wishing you a wonderful 2020!
Sigh!
YOU’RE a gift
💜💜💜💜💜💜
Cheers to you too! Writing inspiration comes from many places – photographs, music or just a thought that pops up randomly. Or these days, a writing prompt from a blog challenge!
Aw, thank you! Yes, inspiration is the fun part that’s for sure. You do so well with the prompts – one of these days we’ll hear your first name… in a post about why you don’t share it… hint, hint, hint :-)!
You’re welcome!
What an honor to be listed as one of your 12! Thanks so much. I’d say you are doing well with your writing and your photography is masterful. Thanks for sharing what you do. May I also say that I am jealous of your already put up tree AND presents wrapped beautifully under it? I am not anywhere close to that yet.
Aw, Janet, you’ve been a joy here, your smile and posts always brighten my day!
LOL – I’m forced to get the stuff ready fast.
The presents are there protecting the tree. If I don’t do it all in one weekend, the cats may destroy things more than the do already.
We never had trouble with the cats and the tree but I’m not so sure about Benny.
He’ll probably just sniff and then lay there to admire it. I hope…!
PS – you’re rocking your goals – way to go!! https://scr4pl80.wordpress.com/2019/12/09/december-reflections-2019-days-6-through-9/
No, thank YOU!
What keeps me writing is knowing that I have a post due. I don’t want to break the chain I started in July 2014, and so far I haven’t.
Aw – see – you’re an inspirational blogger – setting goals and accomplishing them for over 5 years, that’s amazing!!!
Thanks!
Beautiful photos of the snow. You said it so artfully, but having a plan for living your ideal life can make all the difference.
Thank you, I’m happy to hear your thoughts!
Thank you for including me in the “list”, Shelley. You are definitely on my list too! “)
You’re welcome!!! Thank you, too!
Tracks on the pristine snow is a sight to behold. Though winds may blow and snow may pile up outside your door, the warmth that exists between you and fellow bloggers, all just a few mouse clicks away, is indeed special. Thank you for mentioning me and my blog about my whimsical walking adventures Shelley.
Your way with words delights me Linda! Thank you for sharing the journey with me (us)!
I love the way your words have been woven around your photos Shelley! That’s very cleverly done and I always like it when bloggers give credit to those who have inspired them. Your post has inspired me today! #senisal
Aw, thank you Debbie – I see you gave credit to Terri too – I missed joining in on her prompt this week. Your photos and message about peace inspired me too, thank you so much for stopping by to say hi! PS – I hope the challenges you’re facing where you live find peace soon.
Thanks again Shelley, we hope things improve soon too.
Dear Shelley, what a fantastic and very inspirational post! I love everything about it: From the gorgeous pictures that transport a piece of true Winter time to me, to the encouraging and love-filled lines you gifted us with. What a beautiful homage to fellow writers!! A beautiful and thoughtful Christmas-gift of kindness. What sparks my fire to write? I would say, it´s my passion to share the crazy adventures I´ve had around the world with people – to relive them again while writing, and creating virtual travel rides for wonderful people like you! Big hugs xxx
Aw, Maria, thank you, I’m so happy you enjoyed the post. I appreciate your generous feedback. Your passionate posts inspire me. You know I don’t physically travel much at all, so each word you share about the adventures you’ve taken or take, launches me off to places I can only imagine about seeing. I’m so happy our paths have crossed here – I look forward to stopping by your place again soon to travel with you! Until then, I’m sending Big Christmas hugs to you! xxxx
Dear Shelley, you know I really say it like I feel it, and I appreciate your kindness and our blogging-friendship very much! It connects me back to the times when I used to live more settled and together with my grandparents when I read your posts, to a very precious time! And i am very happy to be able to share some of the joy and wonder I´ve experienced on my travels so far with you, its a pleasure and a true joy! 🙂 Big Christmas hugs gratefully received lovely! Sending many big hugs back to you, plus some Spanish sunshine:) xxxx
Aw, Maria – you know just what to say to warm my heart!! xxxxxxxxx

Thanks, Shelley, for sharing your lovely photos with us. I like the black and white photos with small foot prints, and all the wrapped presents under the tree 🙂 #MLSTL
Thank you, Natalie. I appreciate your feedback. WOW – I’m inspired by your accomplishments for the year, way to go, girl! I’m afraid to look back at my year…yet, anyhow. I’ve got a couple weeks to scramble everything in, right?!
Shelley, I always appreciate your candor, vulnerability and your gift with words and photos. This post along with the stunning photos especially describes a blogger’s journey. I agree how other writers are a gift and an inspiration. I will stop by the names you have highlighted. A few of the bloggers are already a favourite of mine, too. Thank you for sharing the gift of you, Shelley💕
Aw, thank you, Erica, your encouragement is so heart-warming. I wish I could stop by often to other blogs or mention everyone I’ve met here, but I’d run outta space and time. Thank you for checking out the other bloggers too – they’re all special, that’s for sure! I’ll be by again soon to see what you’ve been up to, I love it when you stop by! xx
Your posts are always delightful and fun to see all the photos. I really like the little tracks in the snow, and the kitty by the tree and presents.
I wish you and your family peace, happiness, and joy for the holiday season.
Thanks so much for the mention.
Aw, thank you, Barbara, I don’t tell you often enough how much I appreciate your encouragement, so I’m happy to mention you to my readers. I love your posts too, by the way! I wish you and your family the same – cheers to warmness and kindness and love this holiday season!

aw – thank you also – for being in the blog world.
and I love the way your words aligned with the photos in your unique style – Shelly-isms or something like that – the hanging and the tasty – and just well done
Aw, Yvette, you’re so sweet, thank you!
