How wishes come true for bloggers

The world is full of people (bloggers) who say, “If only, I wish I __________.”  Frankly, some days, I’m right there with them.

As a learning-as-I-go-blogger, each day when I start a blog post, I wish I’d come up with that something really super-duper profound to write about.

With all the world’s words at my computer’s access (thank goodness for Google, right?), I certainly can find some words to share that are interesting?

Sometimes I wish that I could go into a time machine right now and just look down at myself and say, ‘Calm down. Things are gonna be fine.  Things are gonna be great.  Just relax.’ – Tristan Wilds

“If only I was more articulate, then I’d stand out.”

I wish my school days could have dragged on a little longer, or that I could go back and do it later in life. – Cara Delevingne

“If only I was more creative, then I wouldn’t blend in so much.”

My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature. – Claude Monet

“If only I didn’t blend in so much to all the other blogs in the world, then I’d find my way out of the clouds and someone interested in my words.”

Treat others as you wish to be treated.  Don’t just be nice, but be kind to other people.  That can be so rewarding. – Mary Lambert

“If only, I wish I could stop my head from twirling around so many negative thoughts.”

Watch your manner of speech if you wish to develop a peaceful state of mind.  Start each day by affirming peaceful, contented and happy attitudes and your days will tend to be pleasant and successful. – Norman Vincent Peale

I do wish I could get better at writing titles.  They stymie me every day.  But, I keep trying, ‘cuz one day, I’ll come up with a big idea that works, I’m positive about it!

Life is too short to be scared and not take risks.  I’d rather be the person that’s like, ‘I messed up,’ than, ‘I wish I did that.’ – Justine Skye

And then I refocus, get myself out of my fog of woes me, and I remember, it’s my blog, my words, and if I like what I write, someone else will eventually enjoy it too.

Sure it might be just a small chance, but they’ll stumble across my blog while they’re randomly chasing rabbit holes on the internet.  It has happened, don’t ya know?  I’ve been there, done that, a time or two myself!

They’ll stick around long enough to nibble on a few words I’ve shared.

And maybe they’ll perk up because they like what they’ve read.

Those positive words might even change their direction for the day, just like they did for me.  And that’s how wishes come true…

  1. It’s a journey for sure Shelley. Some days it’s a slog but if you write what you feel, and think of a blog as an outlet for your thoughts and feelings, others will surely follow! This is a lovely, thoughtful post. Well done

    1. I can empathize with those thoughts! PS – Congrats on 2 years blogging on WordPress, that’s a lot of devotion on your part! xx

      1. awww, thanks Shelley! I’ve totally sucked lately on posting, but I feel a (minor) resurgence! Thanks, as always, for your support!

  2. Titles stump me too but I’ve been trying to at least give the month a catchy phrase (Sweet September, Jots in June, etc.) Love your little bunny friend.

  3. Your thoughtful posts about blogging have inspired me to look at my own outlook on it. Like Hmmmm… she’s gotten me to think more about this. What the heck, maybe I should write it down. Thanks for making me think Shelley. LOL!

  4. I don’t know if I had ever mentioned that I am also a clown – a real clown. We have a group that does ministry work at nursing homes and hospitals and my goal when we go is to get one smile and I pray that I make one person forget their troubles for 1 minute. And your encouraging words today are so refreshing in showing that same perseverance. One word of encouragement at a time. Thanks for the shout out on my blog.

    1. Aw, that’s great that you do that, I bet you get lots of smiles! I’m smiling reading that you smiled today because of my post – you’re welcome and I look forward to seeing you and your blog continue to grow!

  5. Love how you link your writing to the pictures, like the rabbit!! I too find writing titles difficult. Some of my earlier ones are just plain weird and awkward. But it’s definitely a learning process. I’m thankful for people who found me and read my posts, like you!!!
Congratulations on 300 followers!!! That is cool and I hope it keeps growing and you continue to find joy in blogging.

    1. Thank you, glad you enjoy my posts (even the poorly titled ones!! ;-))! I’m so thankful our paths crossed and that we stop in and check in on each other as we continue learning the world of blogging. Happy Blogging to you – I’ll never tire of stopping by your blog to catch a glimpse of the smiles happening in your world!

      1. Love to hear from you! When I felt discouraged that I couldn’t find community, your encouraging responses to my comments made me feel like blogging is about relating to other people and that someone was talking to me. Thanks!!!
Hope you have an awesome Wednesday and a happy blogging day! 🙂
