A busy bunny appeared and convinced me to stick around long enough to see how it’s easy to stay focused and get sh*t done.
Bunnies know how to do that, yes, they do.
As Hoomans, it’s easy to be too busy coming and going. We need to stop and notice little things as we move through the traffic patterns of life.
We may be busy like bunnies, but bunnies are more focused than us. They have fewer distractions as they work.
Hoomans have a big wide world of things to distract us. So many things to see and do all at once.
When’s the last time you stopped to focus long enough to watch a jet cross the sky?
Connecting all of our unfocused dots we can see how quickly life’s moments can flee…
Hoomans rarely pause to take time enough to zoom in with a laser focus of cat’s eye to get our work done. Instead, we can get sidetracked and throw a cat into the mix, when the story is about a bunny?!
If we focused, we’d notice small details that pop into our lives to teach us lessons we didn’t expect to hear…yeah, I’m talking to you dear –
Like how to take a lesson from a bunny about how to stay focused to get sh*t done.
When’s the last time you watched a bunny dance and move while it works – ever so gracefully, yet at the same time looking quite silly? A bunny can make being focused look like fun. Do we have that much fun doing our work?
A bunny pauses while it works, but stays focused on the task at hand – long enough for a hooman to run and switch to a zoom lens.
It nibbles and pauses…nibbles and pauses…apparently, the work is quite a serious cause…
It covers ground in all directions, noticing every angle, shaking its fluffy white butt as it moves. But, it remains focused…ever so focused…
In between, it stops to stare…
As if to say, “I dare you to watch me do my work called the Grassy Nibble…
it may not seem like fun to you – the work us bunnies do – but, it’s important stuff as we move about with our butts of fluff.”
If bunnies didn’t move slow enough to notice their surroundings as they go, they’d miss grassy areas that clear between each snow…each spot they find helps bunnies do their jobs as nature’s grass converting agents. They focus to get the job done of creating delightful tiny nuggets of kibble for little doggies to nibble.
And that’s the point of this little lesson I learned – A busy bunny who focuses on the task at hand, gets sh*t done.
Post Inspiration – Finding focus in life to get sh*t done.
PS – How do you stay focused to get your work done? What’s your best tip for getting your tasks done?
Now you are focused………hop to it 🙂
LOL – way to hop in with your superb sense of humor! 😉
But I can rabbit on a bit 😀 😀
:-)!!
Staying focused to finish a project….yea, not in this lifetime. I and my daughter call the many distractions trains and I run multiple trains at the same time. Its better now that I have retired but still multiple trains still run at the same time. I love watching my dog and the yard rabbits doing a stand off to see who moves first.
LOL – silly you-you can stay focused enough to create such a magical Christmas display! 😉 Our dogs sound like kindred spirits – Copper loves the bunny stand off as well.
Great story about focus! The things we learn from animals, right?
Thank you, Janet – furry animals or silly human animals that park in front of our houses right? 😉
Great photos – I wonder if the cat is the most focused after spotting the bunny…! Staying focused is a challenge. Clearing away clutter. Turning off the phone. Sometimes putting on music. However the biggest hurdle for me is trying to multitask instead of truly focusing on one project.
Thank you! Yes, I’m guilty of those same things – and I’m finding that with my older brain (more mature one) it is less and less easy to multi-task. It’s bad for our brains. Ah…yes, music helps :-)! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I have two pet bunnies and one of my favorite parts of the day is letting them into the yard to hop around and explore. It’s amazing how meditative and calming it is to watch!

Aw, they’re lucky bunnies to get to go outside and munch away. It is peaceful watching them hop and explore. PS – nice to hear from you again, I was hoping the bunny hopping post would draw you back so I could hear your thoughts! xx
I used to be less distracted and more focused – I don’t know why I’ve fallen off that wagon, but I wish I could go back the way I used to be. That is a very long bunny and I love the translucent pink ears with the sun shining through them.
Maybe it is because you have so many blog ideas running around in your head? Start a bullet journal ;-)! Thanks for your photo feedback, much appreciated!
I actually used to have a steno pad to jot down ideas after I came home from walking, or just in general. I try to hold onto them in my head – that usually works but I think I should be a little more organized. Sometimes I think of something from the past and I know I will turn that into a blog post … like revisiting the diner after 40 (gulp) years.
I’m a keep it in my head kinda gal too, and that ‘skill’ is fading with age, unfortunately. 🙁 Ooooh…that sounds interesting…do share the link when you’ve got that post written!
I have watched a jet fly overhead. I see them all the time now that our house appears to be on a landing pattern for Hartsfield Airport, McCollum Field (in Kennesaw), and Dobbins Air Force Base (I think the Atlanta Naval Air Station is there, too), but that’s not what I mean. I was about six and just hanging around by myself (it was summer and Mom threw me out of the house), and I looked up and saw a plane way up overhead, and I remember watching that for the longest time…
Rabbits and kids have nothing better to do…
LOL – that’s very true, ah…the joys of being a carefree child! I hope you find moments like that in your retirement!
