Remember when you were in the middle of your pregnancy? Feeling like you’ve lost track of how long you have to go? There was comfort in knowing how far along you were. Maternity check-in appointments helped you keep track and encouraged you along the way. Well, that’s how it feels at this stage of going gray, you still want check-in points to keep track of how far along you really are.
It has been a long time since I was pregnant. The empty nest stage is definitely not pregnant. I’m a bit out of practice in calculating time gone by. I’ve been making the mistake of assuming there are 4 weeks to a month just like I did when I was first pregnant.
My pre-going-gray check-in points used to be every 5 weeks at the hairdresser. Now that I’m not going in on a regular basis for comfort check-ins, it’s easy to feel a bit lost in the timeline.
At 24 weeks, I assumed I’m at the 6-month mark. No such luck. I’m at 5 months and 16 days to be exact. Well, now I know. If you too are struggling to keep track, check out this calculation website. I’m keeping it bookmarked so I won’t be calculating off the mark again!
5 months and 16 days is a strange stage. Many “not quite” thoughts keep running through my head of lets.get.there.finally.silver.wannabe.hairs!
- Not quite gray.
- Not quite ready to chop the old hair off.
- Not quite sure why it feels like the hair seems to have slowed its growth process down.
Just another stage. At least I know how far along I am now! Time to start planning the 6-month mark celebration! How do you feel at this stage? I’d love to hear how you keep track and what you do to keep motivated!
