Chippewa Falls, WI, founded in 1869, located on the Chippewa River and has many spots to view the water from.
As we walked around downtown looking for bicycles (see post here), I remembered on my list of EveryDayAdventures2017 was #11 a view from the water assignment.
For my twist on this challenge, I chose to take pictures looking at the water from a couple of spots along our stroll through town. A walking view, instead of being on the water, like the turtle who happened to spy us before I could get close enough to him.
He disappeared into the water. Turtles can stay underwater for a long time!
Chippewa Falls, WI started this new area as you come into the town called The Chippewa Riverfront. This area has always been a spot for fishing, but now it will be a special area to bike, walk, sit, listen to music, etc. It is still a work in progress, but there were many spots to stop and catch a view from the water.
Below the dam by the NSP building is a tried-and-true hot spot for fishing.
We spied a couple of fishermen across the water. They are kind of hard to see in the picture, but they are there just to the right of the corner of the building. They caught a fish while we were watching. Dang…I didn’t have a zoom lens this time.
This area of the water typically floods every year. It will be interesting to see how the walkways survive year after year.
Remember to look around everywhere – there are small surprises along the way!
Glance down at the flowers along the pathway too.
Quite the rolling water – makes it easy to tell that we’ve had plenty of rain this year.
Looks like there will be a couple of pond areas. I love the tree reflections on this picture.
The pond areas are still under construction. They are still in phase two of the construction. Chippewa Falls, WI has so many old buildings with colorful red bricks to see.
Around the bend away from the Riverfront area, the creek runs through the city.
We spied a little seating area and decided to check it out.
Wow, there’s a really cool looking wall down here.
It does appear someone was here and wanted to leave a smile behind.
Cool – it is a historical wall.
The area is a bit overgrown, so it was hard to see the view of the water from here.
But this spot is better. Look at how the water rolls over the rocks.
Hmm…water rolling over the rocks forever…or as this graffiti sign says…
EverydayAdventures2017- A view from the water. Time to find another spot to discover!
