I find faces fascinating. When I look at photos of faces, heads, and facial features, I wonder what thoughts ran through the person or pet at that moment the photo was captured. While I admire portrait photographers, being able to capture a great headshot is foreign to me. I’ve yet to master the selfies or facies as I called them for the longest time – that is until I was corrected by those in the know.
The world is a looking glass and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. – William Makepeace Thackeray
When our daughters were younger, I grabbed the camera as much as possible. Now that they’re grown and out of the house, holidays are our main photo shoot opportunities. Even then, I’m usually too busy listening to their words or watching the joy and enthusiasm in their eyes, as they update us on their lives, to stop and grab my camera for a picture.
But, I find plenty of moments to catch photos of our pets. They’re not talkative like people, except for Dessy, when she’s hungry. And if I’m patient enough, I’ll get some fun shots.
Pet noses are adorable.

Here’s a recent attempt at a selfie. As you can see I haven’t gone back to the bottle (coloring), I’m still gray (duh…this is black and white), and I love it (my hair).
With me, what you see is what you get. Yes, call me naive, but I love life. I am happy, and for that, I make no apologies. I do like to see the best in people, and when someone is nice to my face, I tend to believe them. – Joyce Giraud

Terrific gallery of head shots for this week. 😀
Thank you, Cee!! I love your weekly challenges!!
adorable 🙂
Your daughters sure look alike and they look alot like you. As someone once said, “well who else would you expect them to look like?” I use to hate having my photo taken and selphies, until I had to figure out how to run a photo booth. After a while you just say, “ good enough.
Yes, not only do they look alike, they were born the same month of the year, 3 years apart and wore the same clothes growing up. I have to really study the pictures to tell them apart. That’s funny, yeah, who else would they look like? I remain fascinated by how they look so much like themselves, yet a cool combination of me and my husband. I always say they get their best parts from him! A photo booth…I didn’t know that!?! Did you write a post about it?
No, but I will soon be revealing myself and all things about me. Very soon. I have a whole other person goong on inside of me. Not the split personality thing, I know very well what each personality is doing at all times. Weird eh? But I think tomorrow I will become unanonymous. I was going to do that today, but was busy doing things.
I’m looking forward to your announcement!!
I love your hair, Shelley! You’re so lovely!
Aw, you’re so sweet, thank you!
You’re welcome, Shelley!
