Apparently, while I was putting my best foot forward during Black Friday/Shop Local Saturday shopping, (15,000 miles on my shoes, burning off calories), there has been some serious competition going on in my home office.
Those damn plant gnats living in my office plants have hatched yet again. Swirling around my computer monitor – flitting around doing their victory dance.
My shopping quests for the best gifts this holiday season didn’t leave me feeling defeated. (Hmm…I haven’t tallied up the totals yet, though!).
But, in comparison to shopping successes, I’m not feeling superior to the gnats…man o’ man, they are relentless.
One just flew into my coffee cup. Grrr…at least that’s one less gnat…
Even though the gnats are dying off (or at least it appears they are) I remain the underdog in the situation at hand.
So…what does every aspiring photographer do when plants give you gnats? You take pictures, of course! I have proof that I’m still standing, and this bunch of gnats was the underdog on one of the shelves. Maybe I should set out the Elf on the Shelf to scare them off?
I can’t decide which photo is my favorite to enter into this week’s Cee’s Black & White challenge.
Beautiful. 😀
Thank you Cee!
Gnats! Have you tried putting soap in the water when you water your plants?
What does one do with gnats? A Brilliant Aspiring Photographer photography them, of course.
;0)
Thanks for the advice MythRider – I haven’t tried the soap yet, I’ve heard peroxide might work too! I really want the plants to survive. They have been a blog prompt and photo subject for fun ;-). I appreciate you stopping by! I love your pictures on your blog by the way!
