A sunrise to brighten your day

While I was discovering the slugs from yesterday, there was something else magical about the morning that I want to share with you.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I miss the sunrises without the view of the darn shed across the road.

Next year, or the years to follow, the sunrise will have new houses built in the field behind these trees.

I’m going to miss this view, even more, when that happens.  Our other views of the area are nice.  I like seeing the birds singing in the morning, and Copper likes to explore while the sunrises.

But the sun as it rises is one of my favorite things to watch.

I’m taking lots of pictures, especially of the sunrises that warm my heart.  Those that contain the vivid colors I adore carrying with me in my memory banks.  And on my digital storage spaces on our computer server.

I hope you enjoy the view of what I saw yesterday – I think the fog helped make it extra special.

Two geese flew into the scene.

Ahh…it was heartwarming for sure, even Copper paused to watch the view.  I think he likes how the glow of the sun warms his nose.

Post inspiration – Sunrises

PS – Happy Monday – hope you have a great week!  Do you like the fog or the silhouettes of the trees?

  1. Beautiful! I would also hate to have development enter that view, but that seems to be life lately. 🙁 Thanks for a happy start to my day.

    1. Thank you! You’re right, it does seem to be life lately. I hope you had a wonderful anniversary – I thought of you and DH on the 14th!! Thank you for stopping by, glad you enjoyed the sunrise photos :-)!

  2. Thanks for the dawn! I especially love the photo where the geese first appear, but they’re all lovely. Any chance the houses will be behind the trees, such that they won’t be visible?

    1. Thank you, Ellen – I’m glad you enjoyed the dawn with me. It was fun when the geese joined in. The trees will likely stay for as long as that neighbor to the right in the photo keeps that lot. The houses will likely block the rolling fog though, and the glow of the sun. 🙁

    1. Yes, your photos are stunning. And I’m still laughing at your lines: “Besides, how many times do I have to pay for music I bought when I was 16? I’ve bought albums, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs and paid to download songs from iTunes. Enough is enough.” Great post, Dan! You brightened my day!

  3. Wow! I can’t really see a sunrise from my house either, but sometimes the sky turns such a brilliant red that I can’t miss it, even over the roofs of the house across the street. You have lovely sunrises there!

  4. I vote for all – silhouette plus fog. I love the geese against the sky too. I don’t blame you for taking so many photos. It is a shame you will lose the view. Is there something you can plant that will grow large and block at least some of the buildings to come? Or…maybe a huge billboard with one of these photos on it!! 🙂

    1. Thank you for your votes. We’ve been thinking about planting a row of pine trees or catalpa trees (they grow fast). But…that billboard idea sounds pretty darn good! I could do a series of them along the whole front yard, and that would block the view of the cars that will be driving by too. You’re brilliant!

  5. The sunrise is so golden in these pictures – I can see how it warms Copper’s nose – the early morning sunlight is so nice to see before the sun his high and strong in the sky and causing those pesky shadows.
