During the early August mornings in Wisconsin, it is common to see the fog rolling in over the fields as the sun starts to rise. A peaceful time of the day to grab a cup of coffee and just watch how the fog moves across the fields.
Today, I wasn’t alone enjoying the peaceful morning.
It was time to let Copper out to do his business. He likes to sit and stare out into the yard too.
As I watched Copper, I looked to the right and noticed the neighborhood deer were enjoying some soybeans for their breakfast. They looked kind of mysterious in the fog. Sometimes they come really close to our house. Today, they were a bit further away. Maybe…with a different lens, I could catch a picture of them?
Quickly I ran back to my office to grab the longer lens and try to capture some pictures of the deer as they were grazing.
Click goes the shutter and up pops their heads.
The moment you wish you had a better longer lens! Oh well, it is fun just the same to see what pictures turn out. Click, click away before the deer disappear back into the woods.
Oh, my, they’ve noticed they aren’t alone! Two of them are looking at me through the fog.
As the fog cleared some, I could see the herd better and to the right there were bucks. Three big ones! Just chatting with each other over their breakfast.
Another successful EverydayAdventures2017 – day 3 capturing morning routine. Enjoy your day!
Shelley,
You had me at fog…the long shots are lovely; I saw they were bucks and realized I’d never seen bucks in the wild (not that your fields are wild! – but they are wild enough for this city girl!). You share so beautifully, and with such a great combination of pride in your work and generosity!
Last night I saw Orion’s Belt, Betelgeuse and Rigel. When you can see the stars over the city at night, it’s like when Mt. Ranier offers you a sight of itself from the ferry. In last week’s heavy snow, the powerful Triborough Bridge disappeared from view, then slowly emerged. All nice, but I’d rather have a field with fog and deer to watch, and since I can’t, Quaint Revival brings it, especially when I enlarge the photos!
Ellen, thank you! I appreciate you reading my post about the fog. I had so much fun this past summer with that photo challenge. We see the deer (sometimes we’re not too fond of them when they eat our trees and our plants, but they can be lovely to watch) on a daily basis. I would love to be able to capture the stars and the moon with my camera. Being out in the country, we can see the stars in all directions. I would miss being able to do so! So glad you enjoy my posts, I so enjoy hearing your feedback!!
